निवर्तयित्वा रामं च तस्याहं दीप्ततेजसः ।
दासभूतो भविष्यामि सुस्थिरेणान्तरात्मना ॥२-७३-२७॥
nivartayitvā rāmaṃ ca tasyāhaṃ dīptatejasaḥ । dāsabhūto bhaviṣyāmi susthireṇāntarātmanā ॥2-73-27॥
Translation
And having brought back Rama of resplendent glory, I shall become his servant with a firm inner soul.
हिंदी अनुवाद
और उस दीप्ततेज वाले राम को वापस लाकर, मैं सुस्थिर अंतरात्मा के साथ उनका दास (सेवक) बन जाऊँगा।
English Commentary
Bharata defines his future not as a monarch, but as a subordinate. Once he retrieves Rama ("dīpta-tejasaḥ" - of blazing glory), he intends to become "dāsa-bhūtaḥ" (one who has become a servant/slave). This is a direct rejection of the sovereignty Kaikeyi secured for him. He emphasizes that this resolve comes from a "susthireṇa antarātmanā" (very steady/firm inner self). It is not a fleeting emotional outburst but a calibrated moral choice. He finds dignity in servitude to the righteous rather than in power gained through treachery.

भरत यहाँ अपनी भावी भूमिका स्पष्ट करते हैं। वह राजा नहीं, बल्कि 'दासभूतो' (दास/सेवक) बनना चाहते हैं। 'दीप्ततेजसः' (प्रज्वलित तेज वाले) राम की सेवा करना ही उनका लक्ष्य है। 'सुस्थिरेणान्तरात्मना' (सुस्थिर अंतरात्मा से) वाक्यांश बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है। यह दर्शाता है कि यह निर्णय भावुकता में नहीं, बल्कि गहरे चिंतन और दृढ़ निश्चय के साथ लिया गया है। कैकेयी ने उन्हें 'राजा' बनाना चाहा था, लेकिन भरत स्वेच्छा से 'दास' बनना चुनते हैं क्योंकि राम का दास होना अधर्म से प्राप्त राजा के पद से कहीं श्रेष्ठ है। यह भक्ति की पराकाष्ठा है।
