अहम् हि अपचितिम् भ्रातुः पितुः च सकलाम् इमाम् ।
वर्धनम् यशसः च अपि करिष्यामि न सम्शयः ॥ ॥२-७४-३०॥
aham hi apacitim bhrātuḥ pituḥ ca sakalām imām |
vardhanam yaśasaḥ cāpi kariṣyāmi na saṃśayaḥ ॥2-74-30॥
Translation
"I will indeed perform complete restitution/worship for my brother and father, and I will increase their fame without a doubt."

"मैं अपने भाई (राम) और पिता (दशरथ) का पूर्ण सम्मान (सेवा/प्रायश्चित) करूँगा और उनके यश को बढ़ाऊँगा, इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं है।"
English Commentary
Bharata declares his resolve to counter Kaikeyi's actions. He uses the word apacitim, which implies paying respect, making restitution, or offering worship. He intends to undo the damage done to his father and brother. By stating he will increase their yaśas (fame/glory), he implies that he will act in a way that negates the infamy brought upon the family by Kaikeyi's greed. The phrase na saṃśayaḥ (without doubt) shows his absolute determination to restore moral order over political gain.

भरत यहाँ अपना संकल्प (प्रतिज्ञा) व्यक्त करते हैं। वे कैकेयी द्वारा किए गए पाप का प्रायश्चित स्वयं करना चाहते हैं। 'अपचितिम्' शब्द का अर्थ यहाँ सम्मान, पूजा, या बदला चुकाना (सकारात्मक अर्थ में, जैसे ऋण चुकाना) है। भरत यह स्पष्ट करते हैं कि वे राज्य नहीं लेंगे, बल्कि राम और दशरथ की सेवा करके उनका यश बढ़ाएंगे ('वर्धनम् यशसः')। यह श्लोक भरत के चरित्र की दृढ़ता को दिखाता है; वे अपनी माता की महत्वाकांक्षाओं को पूरी तरह से विफल करने और धर्म की स्थापना करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध हैं।
