उपदिष्टम् सुसूक्ष्म अर्थम् शास्त्रम् यत्नेन धीमता ।
स नाशयतु दुष्ट आत्मा यस्य आर्यो अनुमते गतः ॥ ॥२-७५-२८॥
upadiṣṭam susūkṣma artham śāstram yatnena dhīmatā । sa nāśayatu duṣṭa ātmā yasya āryo anumate gataḥ ॥ ॥2-75-28॥
Translation
"May that wicked soul destroy (forget/ignore) the subtle meaning of the scriptures, taught with great effort by a wise preceptor, by whose consent the Arya went."

"बुद्धिमान गुरु द्वारा यत्नपूर्वक उपदेश किए गए शास्त्रों के अत्यंत सूक्ष्म अर्थ को वह दुष्टात्मा भूल जाए (नष्ट कर दे), जिसकी अनुमति से आर्य (राम) वन को गए हों।"
English Commentary
Bharata curses himself with intellectual bankruptcy. In the Vedic tradition, receiving the susukshma artham (subtle/profound meaning) of the scriptures from a dhimata (wise teacher) is the greatest blessing. To "destroy" or forget this knowledge is to lose one's moral compass and spiritual grounding. Bharata asserts that if he is guilty, he deserves to become a man who cannot comprehend wisdom, rendering all his education useless. This highlights the high value Bharata places on learning and the Guru-shishya tradition.

यह शपथ बौद्धिक और आध्यात्मिक पतन से सम्बंधित है। प्राचीन शिक्षा पद्धति में, गुरु द्वारा 'सुसूक्ष्म अर्थम्' (गूढ़ रहस्य) प्राप्त करना वर्षों की तपस्या का फल होता था। यह ज्ञान ही जीवन में धर्म और अधर्म का विवेक देता है। भरत कहते हैं कि यदि वे दोषी हैं, तो वे उस ज्ञान को खो दें। ज्ञान का नाश होना ('बुद्धिनाश') मनुष्य के विनाश का कारण बनता है। यह दर्शाता है कि भरत केवल भौतिक दंड से नहीं डरते, बल्कि वे अपनी प्रज्ञा और विवेक को खोने को सबसे बड़ा दंड मानते हैं।
