English Commentary
Aurdhvadaihikam literally translates to 'relating to the upper body' or 'concerning the life after death.' All of Bharata's charity was directed toward this specific eschatological goal. The second half of the verse sets the scene for the next event. After the formal rituals of the twelve days are concluded, the thirteenth day brings a moment of personal, raw grief. Bharata returns to the cremation site, a transition from public ritual duty to private emotional reckoning.

'और्ध्वदैहिक' का शाब्दिक अर्थ है 'देह के ऊपर' या 'परलोक संबंधी'। भरत द्वारा किया गया समस्त दान इसी उद्देश्य से था। श्लोक का दूसरा भाग अगली घटना की भूमिका बाँधता है। बारह दिन के संस्कार पूर्ण होने के बाद, तेरहवें दिन एक विशेष और भावुक क्षण आता है जब भरत चिता-स्थल (श्मशान) की ओर पुनः जाते हैं। यह शोक की उस लहर को दर्शाता है जो विधिवत कार्यों के संपन्न होने के बाद खालीपन के रूप में आती है।
