चिता मूले पितुर् वाक्यम् इदम् आह सुदुह्खितः ।
तात यस्मिन् निषृष्टः अहम् त्वया भ्रातरि राघवे ॥ ॥२-७७-६॥
Chita mule pitur vakyam idam aha suduhkhitah । Tata yasmin nishrishtah aham tvaya bhratari raghave ॥ ॥2-77-6॥
Translation
Sitting at the base of the pyre, extremely aggrieved, he spoke these words addressing his father: "O Father, the brother Raghava to whose care I was entrusted by you..."

English Commentary
Bharata sits at the very base of the pyre (chita mule) and converses with his deceased father as if he were present. This is a psychologically heavy moment. Bharata recalls that Dasharatha had implicitly entrusted him to Rama's care. His anguish stems from the fact that the designated guardian (Rama) is exiled. Nishrishtah means entrusted or handed over; Bharata feels the weight of being left without the protector his father had intended for him.

भरत चिता की राख के पास बैठकर अपने मृत पिता से बातें कर रहे हैं, मानो वे अभी भी सुन रहे हों। यह मनोवैज्ञानिक रूप से अत्यंत भारी क्षण है। भरत को याद आ रहा है कि राजा दशरथ हमेशा राम पर भरोसा करते थे और मानते थे कि राम भरत का ख्याल रखेंगे। भरत की पीड़ा यह है कि वह रक्षक (राम) भी अब यहाँ नहीं है। 'निषृष्टः' का अर्थ है सौंपा गया या न्यास (trust) के रूप में दिया गया।
