ततः प्रभात समये दिवसे अथ चतुर्दशे ।
समेत्य राज कर्तारः भरतम् वाक्यम् अब्रुवन् ॥ ॥२-७९-१॥
Tataḥ prabhāta samaye divase atha caturdaśe । Sametya rāja kartāraḥ Bharatam vākyam abruvan ॥ ॥2-79-1॥
Translation
Then, at dawn on the fourteenth day, the king-makers (ministers/officials) gathered together and spoke these words to Bharata.

तदनंतर चौदहवें दिन प्रातःकाल के समय, राजकाज चलाने वाले अधिकारियों (राजकर्ताओं) ने एकत्रित होकर भरत से यह वचन कहा।
English Commentary
Sarga 79 marks the transition from ritual mourning to political action. The "fourteenth day" signifies the end of the strict mourning period for the King. The appearance of the rāja kartāraḥ (literally: King-makers) highlights the constitutional aspect of the Ikshvaku lineage. These are the high ministers, priests, and guild leaders responsible for the continuity of the state. They approach Bharata not just to console him, but to demand leadership, signaling that the administrative vacuum must be filled immediately.

यहाँ से ७९वां सर्ग आरम्भ होता है। दशरथ की मृत्यु के बाद तेरह दिन की शोक अवधि समाप्त हो चुकी है। चौदहवां दिन ('दिवसे अथ चतुर्दशे') राज्य के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि अब शोक से बाहर निकलकर प्रशासन को संभालना है। 'राज कर्तारः' एक महत्वपूर्ण शब्द है, जिसका अर्थ है 'राजा बनाने वाले' या वरिष्ठ मंत्री/अधिकारी जिनके पास उत्तराधिकारी चुनने या राज्याभिषेक कराने का अधिकार होता है। वे भरत के पास एक औपचारिक प्रस्ताव लेकर आते हैं, क्योंकि सिंहासन अधिक समय तक खाली नहीं रह सकता।
