नक्षत्रेषु प्रशस्तेषु मुहूर्तेषु च तद्विदः ।
निवेशम् स्थापना प्रायः भरतस्य महात्मनः ॥२-८०-१७॥
nakṣatreṣu praśasteṣu muhūrteṣu ca tadvidaḥ |
niveśam sthāpayām āsur bharatasya mahātmanaḥ ॥2-80-17॥
Translation
Experts in astrology established the encampment of the high-souled Bharata under auspicious stars and moments (muhurtas).

ज्योतिष विद्या के जानकारों (तद्विदः) ने प्रशस्त (शुभ) नक्षत्रों और मुहूर्तों में महात्मा भरत के शिविर की स्थापना की।
English Commentary
This verse emphasizes the integral role of astrology and sacred timing in ancient Indian statecraft. Even for a temporary camp, the tadvidaḥ (knowers of that science/astrologers) were consulted to find praśasteṣu (auspicious) stars and muhurtas. This was done to ensure the safety of the king and the success of the mission. It reflects the worldview that aligns human action with cosmic rhythms. Establishing the camp was a ritual act, not just a logistical one. It shows that despite the urgency and grief, the cultural and religious protocols surrounding the royal personage were strictly maintained.

प्राचीन भारतीय संस्कृति में काल-गणना और मुहूर्त का विशेष महत्व है। 'तद्विदः' (उस विद्या को जानने वाले, अर्थात ज्योतिषी) ने शुभ नक्षत्र और मुहूर्त देखकर ही शिविर की स्थापना की। यह केवल एक रात्रि विश्राम का स्थान नहीं था, बल्कि राम को वापस लाने के महाअभियान का केंद्र था, इसलिए आध्यात्मिक और ज्योतिषीय शुद्धता अनिवार्य मानी गई। यह दिखाता है कि वन में भी वैदिक परंपराओं और विधि-विधानों का पूर्ण पालन किया जा रहा था। राजा (या कार्यवाहक राजा) की सुरक्षा और सफलता के लिए दैवीय अनुकूलता प्राप्त करना राजपुरोहितों और ज्योतिषियों का कर्तव्य था।
