Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सचन्द्र तारा गण मण्डितम् यथा ।
नभः क्षपायाम् अमलम् विराजते ।
नर इन्द्र मार्गः स तथा व्यराजत ।
क्रमेण रम्यः शुभ शिल्पि निर्मितः ॥२-८०-२२॥
sacandra tārā gaṇa maṇḍitam yathā |
nabhaḥ kṣapāyām amalam virājate |
nara indra mārgaḥ sa tathā vyarājata |
krameṇa ramyaḥ śubha śilpi nirmitaḥ ॥2-80-22॥
Translation
Just as the clear sky shines at night adorned with the moon and hosts of stars, so did that delightful road of the king (Bharata), constructed by skilled artisans, shine in its course.

जैसे रात में चंद्रमा और तारागणों से सजा हुआ निर्मल आकाश सुशोभित होता है, वैसे ही कुशल शिल्पियों द्वारा बनाया गया वह रमणीय राजमार्ग क्रमशः (समय के साथ/विस्तार में) सुशोभित हो रहा था।
English Commentary
This concluding verse of Sarga 80 uses a celestial simile to describe the completed road. The road, dotted perhaps with white tents, flowers, or lights, is compared to the night sky adorned with the moon and stars (sacandra tārā gaṇa maṇḍitam). This implies not just beauty but a sense of vastness and awe. The credit is explicitly given to the śubha śilpi (auspicious/skilled artisans), acknowledging their role in creating this masterpiece. It encapsulates the theme of the entire canto: the transformation of the earth by human skill to mirror the glory of the heavens, all in service of the King.

सर्ग 80 का यह अंतिम श्लोक एक सुंदर उपमा के साथ समाप्त होता है। शिल्पियों द्वारा बनाए गए मार्ग की तुलना 'सचन्द्र तारा गण मण्डितम्' (चाँद-तारों से सजे) आकाश से की गई है। संभवतः मार्ग पर लगे सफेद तंबू, दीपकों की कतारें और फूलों की सजावट रात में तारों जैसी चमक रही थी। 'शुभ शिल्पि निर्मितः' (कुशल कारीगरों द्वारा निर्मित) कहकर वाल्मीकि जी ने पुनः श्रम और कौशल को सम्मान दिया है। 'नर इन्द्र मार्गः' (नरेंद्र/राजा का मार्ग) उस वैभव को दर्शाता है जो भरत के लिए तैयार किया गया था। यह श्लोक मानवीय कला और प्राकृतिक सौंदर्य की तुलना करता है।
