ब्राह्मणान् क्षत्रियान् योधान् अमात्यान् गण बल्लभान् ।
क्षिप्रम् आनयत अव्यग्राः कृत्यम् आत्ययिकम् हि नः ॥२-८१-१२॥
brāhmaṇān kṣatriyān yodhān amātyān gaṇa ballabhān |
kṣipram ānayata avyagrāḥ kṛtyam ātyayikम् hi naḥ ॥2-81-12॥
Translation
"Bring quickly the Brahmanas, Kshatriyas, warriors, ministers, and troop leaders. Be attentive and swift, for our task is urgent."

(उन्होंने आदेश दिया:) "ब्राह्मणों, क्षत्रियों, योद्धाओं, मंत्रियों और गण-नायकों (सेनापतियों/दलपतियों) को शीघ्र बुला लाओ। तुम लोग एकाग्रचित्त होकर जाओ, क्योंकि हमारा कार्य अत्यंत आवश्यक (आत्ययिक) है।"
English Commentary
Vasistha calls for an emergency council. The list of invitees is comprehensive, including religious leaders, nobility, military commanders, ministers, and guild leaders (gaṇa ballabhān). The use of the word ātyayikam (urgent/emergency) underscores the critical nature of the situation—they are at the edge of the forest, about to encounter Guha and cross the Ganga. Vasistha instructs the messengers to be avyagrāḥ (focused/unflustered), ensuring efficiency. This gathering suggests that the mission to retrieve Rama was not a private family affair but a state-sanctioned objective requiring the consensus and mobilization of the entire polity.

वसिष्ठ द्वारा बुलाई गई सभा अत्यंत समावेशी है। इसमें समाज के सभी प्रमुख वर्गों—ब्राह्मण (विद्वान), क्षत्रिय (शासक वर्ग), योद्धा, अमात्य (मंत्री) और 'गण बल्लभान्' (सैन्य या श्रेणी प्रमुख)—को बुलाया गया। 'आत्ययिकम्' (आपातकालीन/अति आवश्यक) शब्द स्थिति की गंभीरता को दर्शाता है। भरत राम से मिलने जा रहे हैं, लेकिन उससे पहले सर्वसम्मति और रणनीति आवश्यक है। वसिष्ठ दूतों को 'अव्यग्राः' (एकाग्र/बिना घबराए) रहने का निर्देश देते हैं, जो एक कुशल प्रशासक का लक्षण है। यह श्लोक लोकतांत्रिक प्रक्रिया के बीज दिखाता है जहाँ महत्वपूर्ण निर्णय 'सभा' में लिए जाते थे।
