Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सज्जम् तु तत् बलम् दृष्ट्वा भरतः गुरु सम्निधौ ।
रथम् मे त्वरयस्व इति सुमन्त्रम् पार्श्वतः अब्रवीत् ॥ ॥२-८२-२७॥
Sajjam tu tat balam dṛṣṭvā Bharataḥ guru samnidhau । Ratham me tvarayasva iti Sumantram pārśvataḥ abravīt ॥ ॥2-82-27॥
Translation
Seeing that army ready, Bharata, standing near his Guru (Vasistha), spoke to Sumantra who was at his side, saying, "Bring my chariot quickly."
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस सेना को तैयार देखकर, भरत ने गुरु (वसिष्ठ) के समीप स्थित होकर, अपने पास खड़े सुमन्त्र से कहा—"मेरे रथ को शीघ्र लाओ।"
English Commentary
Bharata initiates the departure. His positioning near the Guru (guru samnidhau) indicates his adherence to protocol even in his haste. He acts with the authority of a commander-in-chief but under the moral supervision of the Brahmin preceptor. The command to bring the chariot (ratham me tvarayasva) signals the formal beginning of the journey. Bharata is eager to close the physical distance between himself and his brother.

भरत की तत्परता दर्शनीय है। वे गुरु वसिष्ठ के सानिध्य ('गुरु सम्निधौ') में हैं, जो दर्शाता है कि वे हर कदम मर्यादा के अनुसार उठा रहे हैं। सेना को तैयार देख वे तुरंत प्रस्थान करना चाहते हैं। 'त्वरयस्व' (जल्दी करो) शब्द उनकी मानसिक व्याकुलता को दिखाता है। उन्हें भय है कि कहीं राम और दूर न निकल जाएं या चित्रकूट छोड़ न दें। भरत अब एक पल भी राजमहल में नहीं रुकना चाहते।
