निरीक्ष्य अनुगताम् सेनाम् ताम् च गन्गाम् शिव उदकाम् ।
भरतः सचिवान् सर्वान् अब्रवीद् वाक्य कोविदः ॥ ॥२-८३-२२॥
Nirīkṣya anugatām senām tām ca gangām śiva udakām । Bharataḥ sacivān sarvān abravīd vākya kovidaḥ ॥ ॥2-83-22॥
Translation
Observing the army that had followed him and the Ganges with its auspicious waters, Bharata, skilled in speech, spoke to all his ministers.

अपने पीछे आई हुई सेना और कल्याणकारी जल वाली गंगा को देखकर, बोलने में चतुर भरत ने अपने सभी मंत्रियों से कहा।
English Commentary
Bharata assumes command. He is described as vākya kovidaḥ (expert in speech/eloquent), implying he knows the right words for the occasion. He observes two things: the anugatām senām (the army that followed him) and the śiva udakām gangām (the Ganges with its propitious/holy waters). Recognizing the physical needs of the former and the spiritual opportunity offered by the latter, he addresses his ministers. This moment highlights Bharata's dual role: he is the acting regent managing a logistical challenge and a grieving son seeking spiritual solace.
