Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
बन्धयिष्यति वा दाशानथ वास्मान् वधिष्यति ।
अथ दाशरथिम् रामम् पित्रा राज्यात् विवासितम् ॥ ॥२-८४-४॥
Bandhayiṣyati vā dāśānatha vāsmān vadhiṣyati |
Atha dāśarathim rāmam pitrā rājyāt vivāsitam ॥2-84-4॥
Translation
Either he will bind us fishermen or he will kill us; and thereafter [he intends to kill] Rama, the son of Dasharatha, who has been exiled from the kingdom by his father.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(संभवतः) वह हम निषादों (दाशों) को बंदी बना लेगा अथवा हमारा वध कर देगा, और तत्पश्चात पिता द्वारा राज्य से निर्वासित दशरथनंदन श्रीराम को मारना चाहता है।
English Commentary
Guha engages in worst-case scenario planning here. He hypothesizes a sequence of events: the neutralization of the local guard (the Dashas/Nishadas) followed by the assassination of the primary target, Rama. The phrasing 'pitrā rājyāt vivāsitam' (exiled from the kingdom by the father) is laden with pathos. Guha implies that Rama is already vulnerable and stripped of power; thus, an attack by Bharata would be not only cruel but cowardly. This verse showcases Guha’s loyalty—he sees himself and his people as the first line of defense, anticipating that they must be dealt with before harm can come to Rama.

गुह यहाँ भरत के आगमन के पीछे के संभावित उद्देश्यों का विश्लेषण कर रहे हैं। क्षत्रिय धर्म और राजनीति के ज्ञाता होने के नाते, गुह को लगता है कि निष्कंटक राज्य भोगने के लिए भरत, राम को समाप्त करना चाहते हैं। 'दाशान्' (केवटों/निषादों) का उल्लेख इसलिए है क्योंकि वे राम के प्रथम रक्षक हैं। गुह को भय है कि राम तक पहुँचने के लिए भरत पहले उनके रक्षकों को मारेंगे। 'पित्रा राज्यात् विवासितम्' कहकर गुह ने राम के प्रति सहानुभूति और अन्याय की भावना को पुनः जागृत किया है—कि जिसे पिता ने पहले ही सब कुछ छीन कर भेज दिया है, उसे अब प्राणों का संकट भी झेलना पड़ेगा।
