Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
स तु सम्हृष्ट वदनः श्रुत्वा भरत भाषितम् ।
पुनर् एव अब्रवीद् वाक्यम् भरतम् प्रति हर्षितः ॥ ॥२-८५-११॥
sa tu samhṛṣṭa vadanaḥ śrutvā bharata bhāṣitam । punar eva abravīd vākyam bharatam prati harṣitaḥ ॥ ॥2-85-11॥
Translation
Hearing Bharata’s words, Guha’s face beamed with delight. Filled with joy, he spoke again to Bharata.

भरत के वचन सुनकर गुह का चेहरा खिल उठा (हर्षित वदन)। वे अत्यंत प्रसन्न हुए और भरत से पुनः यह वचन बोले।
English Commentary
The physical transformation of Guha—"samhṛṣṭa vadanaḥ" (delighted face)—signals the resolution of conflict. He intuitively grasps the sincerity in Bharata’s voice. The tension dissipates instantly. Guha’s joy is twofold: relief that Rama is safe from his brother, and admiration for Bharata’s noble intent. This verse marks the shifting of alliance; Guha is now fully on Bharata's side, transitioning from a guardian blocking the path to an admirer facilitating the journey.

गुह के चेहरे पर आया बदलाव ('संहृष्ट वदनः') यह बताता है कि भरत के वचनों में कितनी सच्चाई थी। सत्य की कंपन (vibration) को गुह ने पहचान लिया। जो भय और चिंता गुह के मन में राम की सुरक्षा को लेकर थी, वह अब समाप्त हो गई है। अब उनका स्थान 'हर्ष' (प्रसन्नता) ने ले लिया है। अब गुह भरत को शत्रु नहीं, बल्कि त्याग की मूर्ति के रूप में देख रहे हैं। यह श्लोक तनाव (tension) से राहत (relief) की ओर संक्रमण (transition) है।
