Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
शाश्वती खलु ते कीर्तिर् लोकान् अनुचरिष्यति ।
यः त्वम् कृच्च्र गतम् रामम् प्रत्यानयितुम् इच्चसि ॥ ॥२-८५-१३॥
śāśvatī khalu te kīrtir lokān anucariṣyati । yaḥ tvam kṛccra gatam rāmam pratyānayitum iccasi ॥ ॥2-85-13॥
Translation
"Your eternal fame shall indeed travel through all the worlds, for you wish to bring back Rama, who has fallen into difficult times."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"निश्चय ही आपकी शाश्वत कीर्ति समस्त लोकों में व्याप्त रहेगी, क्योंकि आप कष्ट में पड़े हुए (कृच्छ्र गतम्) राम को लौटा लाने की इच्छा रखते हैं।"
English Commentary
Guha prophecies that Bharata's fame will be śāśvatī (eternal/everlasting). While Rama's fame comes from obedience and valor, Bharata's fame arises from renunciation and fraternal love. Guha notes that Bharata seeks to rescue Rama who is "kṛccra gatam" (gone into difficulty/distress). By prioritizing his brother's well-being over his own supreme power, Bharata ensures his legacy will traverse all worlds ("lokān anucariṣyati"). Guha recognizes that this act transcends politics and enters the realm of spiritual greatness.

गुह भविष्यवाणी करते हैं कि भरत की 'कीर्ति' (यश) 'शाश्वती' (सदा रहने वाली) होगी। राम ने तो पितृ-आज्ञा पालन करके धर्म निभाया, लेकिन भरत सत्ता का त्याग करके भ्रातृ-प्रेम का एक नया आदर्श स्थापित कर रहे हैं। 'कृच्छ्र गतम्' का अर्थ है जो कठिनाई या विपत्ति में हो। वनवास के कष्टों को झेल रहे राम को वापस लाने का प्रयास करके भरत यह सिद्ध कर रहे हैं कि उनके लिए राज-सुख से बढ़कर भाई का सुख है। गुह का यह कथन वाल्मीकि की अपनी आवाज़ प्रतीत होता है, जो भरत के त्याग को अमर बता रहे हैं।
