कतरेण गमिष्यामि भरद्वाज आश्रमम् गुह ।
गहनो अयम् भृशम् देशो गन्गा अनूपो दुरत्ययः ॥ ॥२-८५-४॥
katareṇa gamiṣyāmi bharadvāja āśramam guha । gahano ayam bhṛśam deśo gangā anūpo duratyayaḥ ॥ ॥2-85-4॥
Translation
"O Guha, by which path shall I go to Bharadwaja’s ashram? This region is exceedingly dense, and the marshy lands along the Ganga are difficult to cross."

"हे गुह! मैं किस मार्ग से भरद्वाज मुनि के आश्रम जा सकूँगा? यह प्रदेश अत्यंत सघन (जंगलों से भरा) है और गंगा का यह तटीय (अनूप) क्षेत्र पार करने में बहुत कठिन है।"
English Commentary
Bharata asks for logistical help. He needs to reach Sage Bharadwaja, but the terrain is hostile. He describes the land as "gahana" (dense/impenetrable) and the "Ganga anūpa" (watery/marshy lowlands along the river) as "duratyayaḥ" (difficult to cross). This highlights the contrast between the organized infrastructure of Ayodhya and the wild frontier. Bharata recognizes his limitations in this environment and relies on Guha’s indigenous knowledge to navigate the treacherous river basin safely.

भरत अपनी समस्या गुह के सामने रखते हैं। उन्हें भरद्वाज मुनि के आश्रम जाना है, क्योंकि वही राम का पता ठीक से बता सकते हैं। 'गहनो अयम्' (यह घना है) और 'दुरत्ययः' (पार करने में कठिन) शब्दों से पता चलता है कि यह इलाका दलदली और अनजान है। 'गंगा अनूप' का अर्थ है गंगा के किनारे की वह भूमि जहाँ पानी भरा रहता है या जो दलदली होती है। भरत, जो रथों के मार्ग के अभ्यस्त हैं, यहाँ की भौगोलिक कठिनाइयों को समझते हैं और स्थानीय विशेषज्ञ (गुह) की सहायता मांगते हैं।
