सो अहम् प्रिय सखम् रामम् शयानम् सह सीतया ।
रक्षिष्यामि धनुष् पाणिः सर्वैः स्वैर् ज्नातिभिः सह ॥ ॥२-८६-७॥
so aham priya sakham rāmam śayānam saha sītayā । rakṣiṣyāmi dhanuṣ pāṇiḥ sarvaiḥ svair jñātibhih saha ॥ ॥2-86-7॥
Translation
"So I, bow in hand, along with all my kinsmen, shall protect my dear friend Rama who is sleeping along with Sita."

"सो मैं, धनुष हाथ में लिए हुए, अपने सभी भाई-बंधुओं (ज्ञातिभिः) के साथ, सीता सहित सोते हुए अपने प्रिय सखा राम की रक्षा करूँगा।"
English Commentary
Guha reiterates his readiness. He describes the visual: himself "dhanuṣ pāṇiḥ" (bow in hand), supported by his entire clan ("jñātibhiḥ saha"). The objective is to guard his "priya sakham" (dear friend) Rama and Sita while they sleep. This verse highlights the collective effort of the Nishadhas to protect the exiled prince, showing that the forest, often seen as dangerous, became a fortress of love under Guha’s command.

गुह अपनी योजना दोहराते हैं। वे अकेले नहीं, बल्कि 'सर्वैः स्वैर् ज्ञातिभिः' (अपने सभी कुटुंबियों) के साथ पहरा देंगे। वे 'धनुष्पाणिः' (हाथ में धनुष लिए) रहेंगे। यहाँ राम को 'प्रिय सखम्' कहा गया है। गुह का यह कथन लक्ष्मण को आश्वस्त करने के लिए अंतिम प्रयास था कि सुरक्षा व्यवस्था चाक-चौबंद है। सीता और राम का निश्चिंत होकर सोना गुह की जिम्मेदारी है।
