महा भाग कुलीनेन महा भागेन धीमता ।
जातो दशरथेन ऊर्व्याम् न रामः स्वप्तुम् अर्हति ॥ ॥२-८८-३॥
Mahā bhāga kulīnena mahā bhāgena dhīmatā । Jāto daśarathena ūrvyām na rāmaḥ svaptum arhati ॥ ॥2-88-3॥
Translation
"Born to Dasharatha, who was of noble lineage and great fortune, and being himself wise and highly fortunate, Rama does not deserve to sleep on the bare earth."

"जो महाभागा (उच्च कुल) में उत्पन्न हुए हैं, और स्वयं भी परम-भाग्यशाली और बुद्धिमान हैं, उन महाराज दशरथ के पुत्र श्रीराम पृथ्वी पर सोने के योग्य नहीं हैं।"
English Commentary
Bharata laments the incongruity of the situation. He invokes the pedigree of Rama—born of the illustrious Dasharatha and possessing great wisdom (dhīmatā) and fortune (mahā bhāgena). The central assertion is na svaptum arhati (he does not deserve to sleep). This is a statement of moral and royal dissonance. Bharata argues that cosmic justice has failed; the biological and characterological heritage of Rama commands the finest luxuries, making his contact with the ūrvyām (earth/dust) a tragic violation of natural order.
