Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
आनुपूर्व्यानिषेदुश्च सर्वे मन्त्रिपुरोहिता: ।
तत: सेनापति: पश्चात् प्रशास्ता च निषेदतु: ॥ ॥२-९१-३९॥
Ānupūrvyāniṣeduśca sarve mantripurohitāḥ । Tataḥ senāpatiḥ paścāt praśāstā ca niṣedatuḥ ॥ ॥2-91-39॥
Translation
All the ministers and priests sat down in order of precedence. Then, the commander of the army and the administrator (camp superintendent) took their seats behind them.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(भरत के बैठने के बाद) सभी मंत्री और पुरोहित मर्यादा-क्रम (वरीयता) के अनुसार बैठ गए। उनके बाद सेनापति और शिविर-प्रशासक (प्रशास्ता) भी बैठ गए।
English Commentary
Order is maintained even in paradise. Once Bharata takes his seat (the minister's seat), the rest of the hierarchy follows suit. Anupurvya signifies strict adherence to rank and precedence. The priests and ministers sit first, followed by the military leadership—the Senapati (General) and the Prashasta (Administrator/Camp Superintendent). This tableau presents a disciplined administration that functions correctly even under extraordinary supernatural circumstances, mirroring the disciplined mind of their leader, Bharata.
हिंदी टीका
राजा (या कार्यवाहक राजा) के स्थान ग्रहण करने के बाद ही सभा बैठती है। यहाँ 'आनुपूर्व्या' (क्रमश:/protocol के अनुसार) शब्द महत्वपूर्ण है। जादुई वातावरण में भी दरबारी शिष्टाचार (Court Protocol) नहीं टूटा। पुरोहित और मंत्री उच्च आसनों पर, और सेनापति तथा 'प्रशास्ता' (शिविर प्रबंधक) उनके पीछे। यह श्लोक बताता है कि अयोध्या का प्रशासन कितना अनुशासित था। भरत के त्याग ने सभी को अपने-अपने दायित्व और मर्यादा का भान कराया।
