नारदस्तुम्बुरुर्गोप: प्रवरा: सूर्य्यवर्चस: ।
एते गन्धर्वराजानो भरतस्याग्रतो जगु: ॥ ॥२-९१-४५॥
Nāradastumbururgopaḥ pravarāḥ sūryyavarcasaḥ । Ete gandharvarājāno bharatasyāgrato jaguḥ ॥ ॥2-91-45॥
Translation
The most excellent Gandharva kings, glowing like the sun—Narada, Tumburu, and Gopa—sang before Bharata.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सूर्य के समान तेजस्वी, गंधर्वों के राजा—नारद, तुम्बुरु और गोप—ने (वहां आकर) भरत के समक्ष गायन किया।
English Commentary
The entertainment provided is of the highest celestial order. Narada and Tumburu are legendary figures in Indian mythology, known as the greatest musicians of the cosmos. Described as suryavarcasah (resplendent like the sun), their presence signifies that this is a sacred, auspicious gathering. Having such exalted beings perform for a human king (Bharata) emphasizes the immense respect Sage Bharadwaja holds for the lineage of Raghu and the person of Bharata.

आतिथ्य में संगीत का स्थान सर्वोपरि होता है। यहाँ सामान्य गायकों को नहीं, अपितु देवर्षि नारद और गंधर्वराज तुम्बुरु जैसे श्रेष्ठ गायकों को बुलाया गया। 'सूर्यवर्चस:' विशेषण उनके तेज और दिव्य स्वरूप को दर्शाता है। नारद और तुम्बुरु का भरत के समक्ष गाना यह सिद्ध करता है कि भरत का सम्मान देवताओं के तुल्य किया जा रहा था। ऋषि भरद्वाज के तपोबल ने इन उच्च कोटि के दिव्य लोकों के निवासियों को भी अयोध्या के राजकुमार की सेवा में उपस्थित होने के लिए बाध्य कर दिया था। यह एक अत्यंत दुर्लभ और अलौकिक दृश्य है।
