उच्छाद्य स्नापयन्ति स्म नदीतीरेषु वल्गुषु ।
अप्येकमेकं पुरुषं प्रमदा: सप्त चाष्ट च ॥ ॥२-९१-५२॥
Ucchādya snāpayanti sma nadītīreṣu valguṣu । Apyekamekaṃ puruṣaṃ pramadāḥ sapta cāṣṭa ca ॥ ॥2-91-52॥
Translation
On the beautiful river banks, seven or eight women (Apsaras) together would apply unguents to each man and bathe him.

सुंदर नदी तटों पर सात-सात और आठ-आठ स्त्रियां (अप्सराएं) मिलकर एक-एक पुरुष को उबटन लगाकर स्नान कराने लगीं।
English Commentary
This verse illustrates the sheer scale of the magical hospitality. The ratio of seven or eight attendants to a single soldier emphasizes an abundance that transcends earthly logistics. These were not merely servants but celestial damsels (pramadah), turning the riverbanks into luxurious open-air baths. The act of applying unguents (ucchadya) and bathing the weary travelers highlights the Sage's intent to completely wash away the physical hardships of the journey, treating every foot soldier with the care usually reserved for a king.

यह श्लोक भरद्वाज मुनि के आतिथ्य के वैभव और विलासिता की चरम सीमा को दर्शाता है। सैनिकों के लिए, जो वन की धूल और थकान से भरे थे, यह अनुभव किसी स्वप्न से कम नहीं था। एक साधारण सैनिक की सेवा में सात-आठ दिव्य स्त्रियों का नियुक्त होना यह बताता है कि वहां संसाधनों की कोई कमी नहीं थी। 'उच्छाद्य' का अर्थ है उबटन या अंगराग लगाना। यह केवल स्नान नहीं, बल्कि एक राजसी कायाकल्प था। ऋषि ने अपनी तपस्या से ऐसी व्यवस्था की जिससे सैनिकों को शारीरिक और मानसिक रूप से स्वर्गिक सुख की अनुभूति हो।
