संवाहन्त्य: समापेतुर्नार्यो रुचिरलोचना: ।
परिमृज्य तथान्योन्यं पाययन्ति वराङ्गना: ॥ ॥२-९१-५३॥
Saṃvāhantyaḥ samāpeturnāryo ruciralocanāḥ । Parimṛjya tathānyonyaṃ pāyayanti varāṅganāḥ ॥ ॥2-91-53॥
Translation
Those beautiful-eyed women arrived to massage their limbs, and after wiping their bodies dry, the lovely damsels offered them drinks.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सुंदर नेत्रों वाली वे श्रेष्ठ स्त्रियां (सैनिकों के) पैर दबाने लगीं और शरीर पोंछकर एक-दूसरे को (मदिरा आदि) पिलाने लगीं।
English Commentary
The hospitality progresses from bathing to therapeutic care and leisure. Samvahana (massage) is a critical part of ancient Indian hospitality for weary travelers. The verse creates a sensual atmosphere where the soldiers are pampered by beautiful women (varanganah). The interaction involves not just service but companionship, as they offer drinks (payayanti) to the men, dissolving the rigid discipline of the army into a fluid state of relaxation and camaraderie.

स्नान के पश्चात विश्राम और मनोरंजन का वर्णन यहाँ किया गया है। 'संवाहन्त्य:' का अर्थ है दबाना या मालिश करना, जो थकी हुई मांसपेशियों के लिए परम सुखदाई है। 'रुचिरलोचना:' (सुंदर नेत्रों वाली) और 'वराङ्गना:' (श्रेष्ठ स्त्रियां) जैसे विशेषण वातावरण की मादकता को बढ़ाते हैं। सेवा सुश्रूषा के बाद मदिरा पान कराना सैनिकों को पूर्ण तृप्ति और आनंद की अवस्था में ले जाने का माध्यम था। यह दृश्य किसी तपोवन का न होकर इंद्रपुरी के विलास-भवन जैसा प्रतीत होता है।
