तर्पिता: सर्वकामैस्ते रक्तचन्दनरूषिता: ।
अप्सरोगणसंयुक्ता: सैन्या वाचमुदैरयन् ॥ ॥२-९१-५७॥
Tarpitāḥ sarvakāmaiste raktacandanarūṣitāḥ । Apsarogaṇasaṃyuktāḥ sainyā vācamudairayan ॥ ॥2-91-57॥
Translation
Satiated in all their desires, smeared with red sandalwood paste, and in the company of troops of Apsaras, the soldiers uttered these words.

समस्त कामनाओं से तृप्त, लाल चंदन का लेप लगाए हुए और अप्सराओं के समूहों से घिरे हुए उन सैनिकों ने यह बात कही।
English Commentary
The visual and sensory transformation of the soldiers is complete. They are no longer dusty warriors but appear like celestial beings themselves, adorned with cooling red sandalwood paste (rakta-chandana) and surrounded by nymphs. Being "satiated in all desires" (tarpitah sarvakamaih) sets the stage for their upcoming declaration. They have reached a saturation point of pleasure where their previous motivations (duty, loyalty, home) begin to fade.

सैनिकों की वेशभूषा और मानसिक स्थिति का वर्णन यहाँ पूर्ण होता है। 'रक्तचन्दन' (लाल चंदन) शीतलता और सुगंध प्रदान करता है और यह विलासिता का प्रतीक है। 'तर्पिता: सर्वकामै:'—उनकी सारी इच्छाएं (भोजन, पान, स्पर्श, विश्राम) पूरी हो चुकी थीं। अप्सराओं के साथ होने से उनका मनोबल सातवें आसमान पर था। ऐसी परम तृप्ति की अवस्था में उनके मुख से जो शब्द निकले (जो अगले श्लोक में हैं), वे उनकी बदली हुई मानसिकता का प्रमाण हैं।
