Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
प्रयाणमिति तच्छ्रुत्वा राजराजस्य योषित: ।
हित्वा यानानि यानार्हा ब्राह्मणं पर्य्यवारयन् ॥२-९२-१४॥
Prayāṇamiti tacchrutvā rājarājasya yoṣitaḥ । Hitvā yānāni yānār्हा brāhmaṇaṃ paryavārayan ॥2-92-14॥
Translation
Hearing the word "Departure," the wives of the King of Kings, though deserving of vehicles, abandoned their vehicles and surrounded the Brahmin (Bharadwaja).

"प्रस्थान" (कूच) का आदेश सुनकर, राजराजेश्वर (दशरथ) की पत्नियाँ, जो वाहनों पर बैठने योग्य थीं, अपने वाहनों से उतरकर उस ब्राह्मण (भरद्वाज) को घेरकर खड़ी हो गईं।
English Commentary
Upon hearing the order to march, the queens demonstrated their reverence by dismounting. Described as yānārhā (worthy of vehicles), implying their royal status and delicate nature, they nonetheless abandoned their comforts to honor the Sage. By surrounding (paryavārayan) the Brahmin, they showed their collective anxiety and hope regarding the upcoming reunion with Rama. It signifies a moment where royal protocol bows down to spiritual authority.

प्रस्थान की घोषणा होते ही रानियाँ ऋषि के सम्मान में अपने रथों/पालकियों से उतर गईं। 'यानार्हा' (वाहन के योग्य) विशेषण यह बताता है कि वे सुकोमल रानियाँ थीं जिन्हें पैदल चलने का अभ्यास नहीं था, फिर भी श्रद्धावश वे नीचे उतरीं। 'पर्यवारयन्' (घेर लिया) दर्शाता है कि वे सभी ऋषि का आशीर्वाद लेना चाहती थीं और राम के बारे में सुनने को उत्सुक थीं। यह दृश्य राजसी अहंकार के त्याग और तपस्वी के प्रति समर्पण का है।
