चन्द्रार्कतरुणाभासां नियुक्तां शिबिकां शुभाम् ।
आस्थाय प्रययौ श्रीमान् भरत: सपरिच्छद: ॥२-९२-३६॥
candrārkataruṇābhāsāṃ niyuktāṃ śibikāṃ śubhām |
āsthāy prayayau śrīmān bharata: saparicchada: ॥2-92-36॥
Translation
The glorious Bharata, accompanied by his attendants, departed riding in a beautiful palanquin that shone like the sun and the moon.

श्रीमान भरत अपने सेवकों सहित, सूर्य और चन्द्रमा के समान कांति वाली एक सुंदर पालकी (शिबिका) में बैठकर चले।
English Commentary
Bharata is depicted riding a 'shibika' (palanquin/litter) rather than a war chariot. The description of the palanquin shining like the sun and moon ('chandra-arka-taruna-bhasam') emphasizes his royal status despite his ascetic intentions. Traveling with his retinue ('sa-paricchadah'), Bharata maintains the dignity of the throne he represents, even while personally rejecting it. The choice of a palanquin might also suggest a more somber, deliberate pace suited to the gravity of his mission compared to the aggressive speed of a chariot.

भरत ने यहाँ रथ या हाथी के बजाय 'शिबिका' (पालकी) का प्रयोग किया है। यद्यपि वह 'श्रीमान' (राजसी शोभा से युक्त) हैं और पालकी सूर्य-चन्द्र जैसी तेजस्वी है, तथापि पालकी का चुनाव संभवतः वन मार्ग की कठिनाई या उनकी मानसिक विनम्रता को दर्शाता है। 'सपरिच्छद:' का अर्थ है अपने निजी सेवकों और राजसी चिह्नों के साथ। भरत की यह यात्रा एक राजा की नहीं, बल्कि एक सेवक की है जो अपने स्वामी को मनाने जा रहा है, फिर भी राजसी शिष्टाचार का पालन किया जा रहा है।
