सा प्रयाता महासेना गजवाजिरथाकुला ।
दक्षिणां दिशमावृत्य महामेघ इवोत्थित: ॥२-९२-३७॥
sā prayātā mahāsenā gajavājirathākulā |
dakṣiṇāṃ diśamāvṛtya mahāmegha ivotthita: ॥2-92-37॥
Translation
That great army, crowded with elephants, horses, and chariots, marched forth covering the southern direction like a rising massive cloud.

हाथियों, घोड़ों और रथों से परिपूर्ण वह विशाल सेना दक्षिण दिशा को आच्छादित करके उठते हुए विशाल बादल की तरह आगे बढ़ी।
English Commentary
The vastness of the procession is reiterated here with directional imagery. Moving towards the South (where Chitrakoot lies), the army is so dense with elephants, horses, and chariots that it physically obscures the horizon. The simile 'maha-megha iva' (like a great cloud) conveys the overwhelming nature of the advance. It suggests an unstoppable force of nature, casting a shadow over the land as it moves, symbolizing the weight of Ayodhya descending upon the forest to reclaim its prince.

सेना के आकार और घनत्व का वर्णन यहाँ किया गया है। 'गजवाजिरथाकुला' (हाथी, घोड़े और रथों से व्याप्त) सेना इतनी विशाल है कि उसने दक्षिण दिशा (जिस ओर चित्रकूट है) को पूरी तरह ढंक लिया है। कवि पुनः 'महामेघ' (विशाल बादल) की उपमा देते हैं, जो न केवल संख्या बल को दर्शाता है बल्कि उस धूल और कोलाहल का भी संकेत देता है जो सेना के चलने से उत्पन्न हो रहा था। यह एक भव्य दृश्य है जहाँ पृथ्वी सेना के भार से दबी जा रही है।
