वनानि तु व्यतिक्रम्य जुष्टानि मृगपक्षिभि: ।
गङ्गाया: परवेलायां गिरिष्वपि नदीषु च ॥२-९२-३८॥
vanāni tu vyatikramya juṣṭāni mṛgapakṣibhi: |
gaṅgāyā: paravelāyām giriṣvapi nadīṣu ch ॥2-92-38॥

Having crossed forests inhabited by deer and birds, and (passing) mountains and rivers on the other bank of the Ganges...

मृगों और पक्षियों से सेवित वनों को, तथा गंगा के उस पार के पर्वतों और नदियों को भी पार करके... (अगले श्लोक से अन्वय)
English Commentary
This verse describes the changing terrain as the army moves deeper into the wilderness. Leaving the vicinity of Sage Bharadwaja's ashram, they traverse forests teeming with wildlife ('mruga-pakshibhih jushtani') and navigate the rugged geography beyond the banks of the Ganges. The mention of mountains and rivers highlights the difficult path Bharata is undertaking. It marks the transition from the spiritual sanctuary of the ashram to the raw, untamed nature leading to Chitrakoot.

यह श्लोक यात्रा के मार्ग और भूगोल का वर्णन करता है। सेना प्रयाग (गंगा-यमुना संगम) से आगे बढ़कर अब बीहड़ वनों में प्रवेश कर रही है। 'मृगपक्षिभि: जुष्टानि' बताता है कि यह क्षेत्र वन्यजीवों से भरा है, कोई जनपद नहीं। गंगा के 'परवेलायां' (दूसरे तट या सुदूर तट) का उल्लेख इंगित करता है कि वे सभ्यता की सीमा पार कर अब पूर्णतः वन-प्रांतर में हैं जहाँ राम निवास कर रहे हैं। यह श्लोक अगले श्लोक के साथ मिलकर अर्थ पूरा करता है।
