मुञ्चन्ति कुसुमान्येते नगा: पर्वतसानुषु ।
नीला इवातपापाये तोयं तोयधरा घना: ॥२-९३-१०॥
muñcanti kusumānyete nagā: parvatasānuṣu |
nīlā ivātapāpāye toyaṃ toyadharā ghanā: ॥2-93-10॥
Translation
These trees on the mountain peaks are shedding flowers, just as dense blue clouds shed water at the end of summer.
हिंदी अनुवाद
पर्वत के शिखरों पर ये वृक्ष (नगा:) उसी प्रकार फूल बरसा रहे हैं, जैसे गर्मी के बीत जाने पर (वर्षा ऋतु में) नीले घने बादल जल बरसाते हैं।
English Commentary
A beautiful nature simile describing the flora of Chitrakoot. The trees ('nagah') shedding flowers correspond to clouds ('toyadharah') shedding water. The timing 'atapapaye' (at the end of the heat/summer) invokes the relief and abundance of the monsoon. This creates an atmosphere of auspiciousness, as if nature itself is showering flowers to mark the significant event unfolding.

प्रकृति का सुंदर चित्रण। वृक्षों से गिरते हुए फूलों की तुलना वर्षा से की गई है। 'आतपापाये' (आतप + अपाये) का अर्थ है 'धूप/गर्मी के जाने पर', अर्थात वर्षा ऋतु का आगमन। जिस प्रकार बादल पृथ्वी को जल से तृप्त करते हैं, वैसे ही ये वृक्ष पर्वत को पुष्पों से ढक रहे हैं। यह वातावरण की पवित्रता और स्वागत करने वाली प्रकृति को दर्शाता है।
