गिरे: सानूनि रम्याणि चित्रकूटस्य सम्प्रति ।
वारणैरवमृद्यन्ते मामकै: पर्वतोपमै: ॥२-९३-९॥
gire: sānūni ramyāṇi citrakūṭasya samprati |
vāraṇairavamṛdyante māmakai: parvatopamai: ॥2-93-9॥
Translation
The beautiful peaks of Chitrakoot are now being trampled by my elephants, which are themselves like mountains.

चित्रकूट पर्वत के इन रमणीय शिखरों (सानु) को इस समय मेरे पर्वत समान विशाल हाथी रौंद रहे हैं।
English Commentary
Bharata observes the impact of his arrival on the serene landscape. There is a poetic mirroring here: the 'mountain-like' elephants ('parvatopamaih') are crushing the actual mountain peaks. The use of 'avamrudyante' (being trampled/crushed) suggests violence done to the beautiful nature ('ramyani') by the sheer weight of the civilization Bharata brings with him. It highlights the dissonance between the ascetic life of Rama and the royal procession of Bharata.

यहाँ भरत के मन में एक हल्का खेद या विरोधाभास झलकता है। एक ओर 'रम्याणि सानूनि' (सुंदर शिखर) हैं, और दूसरी ओर उनकी अपनी सेना के हाथी इन्हें 'अवमृद्यन्ते' (कुचल रहे हैं)। हाथियों की उपमा 'पर्वतोपमै:' (पर्वत के समान) से देकर कवि ने यह दिखाया है कि कैसे एक 'पर्वत' (हाथी) दूसरे 'पर्वत' (चित्रकूट) से टकरा रहा है। भरत को भान है कि उनकी सेना वन की शांति भंग कर रही है।
