एतान् वित्रासितान् पश्य बर्हिण: प्रियदर्शनान् ।
एतमाविशत: शीघ्रमधिवासं पतत्ऺित्रण: ॥२-९३-१७॥
etān vitrāsitān paśya barhiṇa: priyadarśanān |
etamāviśata: śīghramadhivāsaṃ patattriṇa: ॥2-93-17॥
Translation
Look at these beautiful peacocks, frightened, quickly entering their abode, the birds.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(सेना के शोर से) भयभीत हुए इन सुंदर मोर-पक्ष्मियों (बर्हिण:) को देखो, जो शीघ्रता से अपने आवास (पहाड़/घोंसलों) में प्रवेश कर रहे हैं।
English Commentary
Bharata points out the 'barhinah' (peacocks), described as 'priyadarshanan' (pleasant to look at). These birds are fleeing in terror ('vitrasitan') to their shelters. This observation serves a dual purpose: it emphasizes the picturesque beauty of the Chitrakoot forest and reinforces the disruption caused by the army. Even in his haste, Bharata retains the aesthetic sensibility to appreciate the wildlife, while noting their fear.

भरत की दृष्टि वन के सौंदर्य और जीवों की पीड़ा दोनों पर है। 'बर्हिण:' (मोर) जो 'प्रियदर्शनान्' (देखने में सुंदर) हैं, वे सेना के कोलाहल से डरकर भाग रहे हैं। 'वित्रासितान्' (डरे हुए) शब्द पुनः यह याद दिलाता है कि यह राजसी यात्रा वन के नैसर्गिक जीवन में खलल डाल रही है। भरत संवेदनशील हैं; वे लक्ष्य की ओर बढ़ते हुए भी अपने आसपास के परिवेश पर पड़ रहे प्रभाव को अनदेखा नहीं कर रहे हैं।
