ऋक्षा: पृषतसङ्घाश्च रुरवश्च समतन्त: ।
दृश्यन्ते वनराजीषु गिरिष्वपि नदीषु च ॥२-९३-२॥
ṛkṣā: pṛṣatasaṅghāśca ruravaśca samatanta: |
dṛśyante vanarājīṣu giriṣvapi nadīṣu ca ॥2-93-2॥
Translation
Bears, herds of spotted deer, and Ruru deer are seen spread all around in the forest rows, on the mountains, and even by the rivers.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वानों की पंक्तियों में, पर्वतों पर और नदियों के तटों पर भी रीछ, चितकबरे मृगों (पृषत) के झुंड और रुरु मृग (एक प्रकार का हिरण) सब ओर फैले हुए दिखाई दे रहे हैं।
English Commentary
This verse creates a vivid picture of the wildlife in the Chitrakoot region. The arrival of the army has likely disturbed the natural habitat, causing animals like bears and various species of deer (Prishata and Ruru) to scatter and become visible across the landscape—from forest lines to riverbanks. The term 'samatantah' (spread all over) suggests that the forest is teeming with life, contrasting with the desolate mood of Bharata.

यह श्लोक वन की सजीवता और विविधता का वर्णन करता है। 'समतन्त:' का अर्थ है 'सब ओर फैले हुए'। सेना के आगमन से वन की शांति भंग हुई है, जिससे छिपे हुए वन्य जीव भी अब खुले में, पर्वत शिखरों और नदी तटों पर दिखाई देने लगे हैं। यहाँ 'ऋक्षा:' (रीछ) और विविध प्रकार के मृगों ('पृषत', 'रुरु') का उल्लेख चित्रकूट के समृद्ध पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र (Ecosystem) को दर्शाता है।
