ते समालोक्य धूमाग्रमूचुर्भरतमागता: ।
नामनुष्ये भवत्याग्निर्व्यक्तमत्रैव राघवौ ॥२-९३-२२॥
te samālokya dhūmāgramūcurbharatamāgatā: |
nāmanuṣye bhavatyāgnirvyaktamatraiva rāghavau ॥2-93-22॥
Translation
Having seen the plume of smoke, they returned to Bharata and said, "Fire does not exist where there are no humans; clearly the descendants of Raghu are right here."
हिंदी अनुवाद
धुएं के ऊपरी भाग को देखकर वे भरत के पास वापस आए और बोले—"जहाँ मनुष्य नहीं होते, वहाँ (यज्ञादि की) अग्नि नहीं होती। स्पष्ट है कि राघव (राम और लक्ष्मण) यहीं हैं।"
English Commentary
The scouts return with deductive reasoning. They argue that controlled fire implies human presence ('na amanusye bhavati agnih'). Therefore, the smoke confirms habitation. Given the location matches Bharadwaja's description, they conclude 'vyaktam' (clearly/evidently) that the Raghavas must be there. This moment transforms speculation into certainty for the search party.

सैनिकों ने धुएं को देखकर तार्किक निष्कर्ष निकाला। 'नामनुष्ये भवत्याग्नि:' (अमनुष्य स्थान में अग्नि नहीं होती)—यह सामान्य बुद्धि का प्रयोग है। जंगल की आग अलग होती है, लेकिन यह धुआँ संभवतः आश्रम की नियंत्रित अग्नि का था। सैनिकों का उत्साह देखिए, वे तुरंत लौटकर भरत को सूचना देते हैं कि 'राघवौ' (दोनों रघुवंशी) यहीं होने चाहिए। यह निष्कर्ष भरत के लिए बड़ी राहत लेकर आता है।
