Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तच्छ्रुत्वा भरतस्तेषां वचनं साधुसम्मतम् ।
सैन्यानुवाच सर्वांस्तानमित्रबलमर्दन: ॥२-९३-२४॥
tacchrutvā bharatasteṣāṃ vacanaṃ sādhusammatam |
sainyānuvāca sarvāṃstānamitrabalamardana: ॥2-93-24॥
Translation
Hearing their words, which were agreeable to the virtuous, Bharata, the crusher of enemy forces, spoke to all those troops.

उनका वह उचित और सज्जनों द्वारा अनुमोदित वचन सुनकर, शत्रुओं की सेना का मर्दन करने वाले भरत ने उन सभी सैनिकों से कहा।
English Commentary
Bharata accepts the soldiers' report as 'sadhusammatam' (agreeable/sound). The epithet 'amitra-bala-mardanah' (crusher of enemy armies) is used here ironically or to emphasize his authority; the one capable of crushing armies is now exercising gentle restraint. He prepares to issue a command that balances his royal power with the humility required for an ashram visit.

सैनिकों की बात भरत को 'साधुसम्मतम्' (उचित/सज्जनों को प्रिय) लगी। अब जब स्थान सुनिश्चित हो गया है, भरत एक निर्णय लेते हैं। उन्हें 'अमित्रबलमर्दन:' (शत्रु सेना को कुचलने वाला) कहा गया है, जो उनकी क्षमता को दिखाता है, लेकिन यहाँ वे इस क्षमता का प्रयोग संयम (Restraint) के लिए करेंगे। वे जानते हैं कि आश्रम में पूरी सेना लेकर घुसना उचित नहीं है।
