Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
शैलप्रस्थेषु रम्येषु पश्येमान् रोमहर्षणान् ।
किन्नरान् द्वन्द्वशो भद्रे रममाणान् मनस्विन: ॥ ॥२-९४-११॥
Śailaprastheṣu ramyeṣu paśyemān romaharṣaṇān । Kinnarān dvandvaśo bhadre ramamāṇān manasvinaḥ ॥ ॥2-94-11॥
Translation
O gentle lady, behold on these delightful plateaus of the mountain, the high-minded Kinnaras, causing thrill and delight, sporting together in couples.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे भद्रे! पर्वत के इन रमणीय समतल स्थानों (पठारों) पर, मन को हरने वाले और रोमांच उत्पन्न करने वाले इन किन्नरों को देखो, जो जोड़ों में (दम्पति रूप में) क्रीड़ा कर रहे हैं।
English Commentary
Rama points out the Kinnaras, celestial beings known for their musical prowess and beauty, enjoying the mountain plateaus in couples. By showing Sita these divine couples, Rama subtly reinforces the romantic atmosphere of their exile. The term romaharṣaṇān (hair-raising or thrilling) suggests that the sight is awe-inspiring and magical. This transforms the forest from a terrifying wilderness into a divine resort. It serves to normalize their stay in the forest—if celestial beings choose this place for pleasure, it is surely worthy of the Prince and Princess of Ayodhya.

इस श्लोक में राम सीता का ध्यान चित्रकूट के अलौकिक निवासियों की ओर आकर्षित करते हैं। किन्नर देवयोनि के प्राणी माने जाते हैं जो संगीत और प्रेम के प्रतीक हैं। राम द्वारा उन्हें 'द्वन्द्वशो' (जोड़ों में) दिखाना यह संकेत करता है कि चित्रकूट प्रेमियों के लिए एक आदर्श स्थान है। 'रोमहर्षणान्' विशेषण बताता है कि उनका दर्शन अद्भुत और रोमांचकारी है। यह दृश्य सीता के मन में वनवास के प्रति भय को समाप्त कर, उसे एक सुखद और रोमानी अनुभव में बदलने का प्रयास है। राम यह जताना चाहते हैं कि जब देवता भी यहाँ अपने जीवनसाथी के साथ आनंद ले रहे हैं, तो उनका वनवास भी आनंदमय हो सकता है।
