Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सुदुश्चरो गिरिश्चायं पक्षिणामपि लक्ष्मण ।
सर्वमेतद्यथातत्त्वमचिराज्ज्ञातुमर्हसि ॥२-९६-१०॥
suduścaro giriścāyaṃ pakṣiṇāmapi lakṣmaṇa । sarvametadyathātattvamacirājjñātumarhasi ॥2-96-10॥
Translation
"O Lakshmana! This mountain is difficult to traverse even for birds. You must find out the truth of all this without delay."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"हे लक्ष्मण! यह पर्वत तो पक्षियों के लिए भी अत्यंत दुर्गम (जहाँ चलना कठिन हो) है। (अतः यहाँ कौन आ सकता है?) तुम इस सबका यथार्थ कारण शीघ्र पता लगाओ।"
English Commentary
Rama notes the geographical anomaly. The terrain is suduścaro (very difficult to move on), even for birds. Therefore, the presence of a large crowd or army is highly unusual and suspicious. This logic heightens the urgency. Rama commands Lakshmana to discover the tattvam (reality/truth) acirāt (without delay). It implies that if a force has managed to penetrate such difficult terrain, their intent and capability must be taken seriously.

राम अपनी शंका को गहरा करते हैं। चित्रकूट का यह भाग इतना दुर्गम ('सुदुश्चर:') है कि यहाँ पक्षियों का भी उड़ना कठिन है, तो फिर इतनी भारी सेना या भीड़ यहाँ कैसे पहुँच सकती है? यह विरोधाभास स्थिति को और रहस्यमय बना देता है। 'अचिरात्' (शीघ्र/बिना देरी किए) शब्द राम की व्यग्रता को दर्शाता है। वे सुरक्षा के प्रति कोई जोखिम नहीं लेना चाहते। यह आदेश लक्ष्मण को तुरंत कार्रवाई करने के लिए प्रेरित करता है।
