त्वया राघव सम्प्राप्तं सीतया च मया तथा ।
यन्निमित्तं भवान् राज्याच्च्युतो राघव शाश्वतात् ॥२-९६-२२॥
tvayā rāghava sampraaptaṃ sītayā ca mayā tathā । yannimittaṃ bhavān rājyaacchutā rāghava shāśvatāt ॥2-96-22॥
Translation
"O Raghava! Because of whom you, along with Sita and myself, have undergone this suffering; and on whose account you were cast down from your eternal kingdom..."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"हे राघव! जिस (भरत) के कारण आपने, सीता ने और मैंने यह कष्ट पाया है; और जिसके कारण, हे राघव! आप शाश्वत (पैतृक) राज्य से वंचित (च्युत) हुए हैं..."
English Commentary
Lakshmana continues his indictment of Bharata. He lists the victims of Bharata's alleged ambition: Rama, Sita, and himself. He emphasizes the magnitude of the loss—being cast out from the shāshvatāt (eternal/hereditary) kingdom. By reiterating the suffering and the injustice, Lakshmana validates his own anger and attempts to rally Rama to the same emotional state of righteous indignation.

लक्ष्मण अपनी दलील जारी रखते हैं। वे राम को याद दिला रहे हैं कि उनके कष्टों का मूल कारण कौन है। वे सीता और स्वयं के कष्ट को भी राम के कष्ट के साथ जोड़ते हैं ताकि राम को युद्ध के लिए प्रेरित कर सकें। 'राज्याच्च्युतो' (राज्य से गिराया जाना/हटाया जाना) एक क्षत्रिय के लिए बड़ा अपमान है। लक्ष्मण इस अपमान को भूल नहीं पाए हैं और वे मानते हैं कि भरत ही इसके लाभार्थी (Beneficiary) और षड्यंत्रकारी हैं।
