एतौ तौ सम्प्रकाशेते गोत्रवन्तौ मनोरमौ।
वायुवेगसमौ वीर जवनौ तुरगोत्तमौ ॥२-९७-२४॥
etau tau samprakāśete gotravantau manoramau |
vāyuvegasamau vīra javanau turagottamau ॥2-97-24॥
Translation
O Hero! There appear those two excellent horses of noble breed, beautiful, swift like the wind, and fleet-footed.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे वीर! वे दो उत्तम घोड़े दिखाई दे रहे हैं, जो अच्छी नस्ल (कुल) के हैं, मन को हरने वाले हैं, वायु के समान वेग वाले और तीव्रगामी हैं।
English Commentary
Rama now observes the approaching procession in detail, identifying specific royal attributes. He points out the two horses, noting their noble lineage ("gotravantau") and beauty. Recognizing these specific steeds confirms to Rama that the chariot belongs to the royal house of Ayodhya. By addressing Lakshmana as "Vira" (Hero), Rama maintains a tone of camaraderie. This observation serves to validate their earlier assumption that the entourage is indeed from their father's kingdom, noting the exceptional quality of the royal stable.

श्रीराम अब सेना का सूक्ष्म निरीक्षण कर रहे हैं। वे रथ में जुते हुए विशेष घोड़ों को पहचानते हैं। 'गोत्रवन्तौ' का अर्थ है कुलीन या अच्छी नस्ल के घोड़े (संभवतः बाह्लीक या कम्बोज देश के)। श्रीराम द्वारा घोड़ों की पहचान करना यह पुष्ट करता है कि वह रथ राजकुल का ही है। वे लक्ष्मण को 'वीर' कहकर संबोधित करते हैं, जो संवाद में स्नेह और उत्साह बनाए रखता है। यह वर्णन राजसी ठाठ-बाट और दशरथ के अश्वशाला की उत्कृष्टता का भी प्रमाण है।
