एवमुक्त्वा महातेजा भरत: पुरुषर्षभ:।
पद्भ्यामेव महाबाहु: प्रविवेश महद्वनम् ॥२-९८-१४॥
evamuktvā mahātejā bharataḥ puruṣarṣabhaḥ |
padbhyāmeva mahābāhuḥ praviveśa mahadvanam ॥2-98-14॥
Translation
Having spoken thus, the highly resplendent Bharata, the bull among men and mighty-armed one, entered the great forest on foot.

ऐसा कहकर, महातेजस्वी, पुरुषों में श्रेष्ठ और महाबाहु भरत ने पैदल ही उस विशाल वन में प्रवेश किया।
English Commentary
This verse marks the transition from speech to action. Bharata, described with high royal epithets like "Purusharshabha" (Bull among men) and "Mahabahu" (Mighty-armed), physically enters the dense forest ("Mahadvanam"). The repetition of "padbhyameva" (on foot indeed) underscores his determination to approach his brother with humility and penance. It serves as a visual contrast: a warrior prince capable of conquering worlds, walking barefoot into the wild out of fraternal devotion.
