स चित्रकूटे तु गिरौ निशम्य रामाश्रमं पुण्यजनोपपन्नम्।
गुहेन सार्द्धं त्वरितो जगाम पुनर्निवेश्यैव चमूं महात्मा ॥२-९८-१८॥
sa citrakūṭe tu girau niśamya rāmāśramaṃ puṇyajanopapannam |
guhena sārddhaṃ tvarito jagāma punarniveśyaiva camūṃ mahātmā ॥2-98-18॥
Translation
Having perceived Rama's hermitage on the Chitrakoot mountain, inhabited by holy men, the high-souled Bharata, having stationed the army again, proceeded quickly with Guha.

चित्रकूट पर्वत पर पुण्यजनों से युक्त राम के आश्रम को देखकर (या उसके बारे में सुनकर), महात्मा भरत सेना को पुनः (व्यवस्थित रूप से) ठहराकर, गुह के साथ शीघ्रता से आगे बढ़े।
English Commentary
This verse concludes the 98th Sarga. Bharata confirms the location of the hermitage, described as filled with holy people ("punyajana"). Crucially, he issues a final order to keep the army stationary ("punarniveshyaiva") to prevent disturbance. He selects only Guha to accompany him for the final approach, showing the intimacy of the moment. The word "tvarito" (hurriedly) captures his impatience now that the destination is in sight. It balances his role as a commander and a longing brother.

आश्रम की निश्चित स्थिति का पता चलते ही भरत अंतिम चरण की ओर बढ़ते हैं। 'पुनर्निवेश्यैव चमूं' दर्शाता है कि भरत उत्तेजना में भी अपनी जिम्मेदारी नहीं भूले; उन्होंने सुनिश्चित किया कि सेना वहीं रुक जाए और आश्रम की ओर न बढ़े। वे केवल अपने विश्वासपात्र सखा गुह ('गुहेन सार्धम्') को साथ लेकर 'त्वरितो' (तेजी से) आगे बढ़ते हैं। यह भरत का 'महात्मा' स्वरूप है—अनुशासित, विचारशील और भक्त।
