Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अमात्यै: सह पौरैश्च गुरुभिश्च द्विजातिभि:।
वनं सर्वं चरिष्यामि पद्भ्यां परिवृत: स्वयम् ॥२-९८-५॥
amātyaiḥ saha pauraiśca gurubhiśca dvijātibhiḥ |
vanaṃ sarvaṃ cariṣyāmi padbhyāṃ parivṛtaḥ svayam ॥2-98-5॥
Translation
I myself, surrounded by ministers, citizens, elders, and the twice-born (Brahmins), shall traverse the entire forest on foot.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं स्वयं मंत्रियों, पुरवासियों, गुरुओं (वशिष्ठ आदि) और ब्राह्मणों के साथ, उन सब से घिरा हुआ, पैदल ही पूरे वन में विचरण (खोज) करूँगा।
English Commentary
Bharata leads by example. He does not merely delegate; he commits himself to the most arduous part of the search. Declaring that he will walk ("padbhyam") with the elders, ministers, and Brahmins, he transforms the search into a solemn procession. His decision to scour the "entire forest" reflects his desperation and determination. By walking, he maintains parity with the exiled Rama and shows deep reverence to the Gurus accompanying him. It portrays Bharata as a humble servant-leader, actively participating in the toil rather than awaiting results in comfort.

शत्रुघ्न और गुह को निर्देश देने के बाद, भरत स्वयं निष्क्रिय होकर नहीं बैठते। वे घोषणा करते हैं कि वे भी मंत्रियों और गुरुजनों के साथ पैदल ही वन छान मारेंगे। 'द्विजातिभि:' (ब्राह्मणों) और गुरुओं का साथ होना यह बताता है कि यह केवल एक खोज नहीं, बल्कि एक धार्मिक यात्रा (Pilgrimage) है। भरत का 'पद्भ्यां' (पैदल) चलना उनके तप और प्रायश्चित का भाग है। वे शारीरिक कष्ट सहकर श्रीराम के वनवास के कष्टों में सहभागी बनने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं।
