Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अथ गत्वा मुहूर्तं तु चित्रकूटं स राघव:।
मन्दाकिनीमनुप्राप्तस्तं जनं चेदमब्रवीत् ॥ ॥२-९९-१४॥
Atha gatvā muhūrtaṃ tu Citrakūṭaṃ sa Rāghavaḥ. Mandākinīmanuprāptastaṃ janaṃ cedamabravīt. ॥2-99-14॥
Translation
Then, having walked for a while (a muhurta), that scion of Raghu (Bharata) reached Chitrakuta near the Mandakini river and spoke these words to his people.

तदनन्तर, रघुकुल नंदन भरत मुहूर्त भर (थोड़ी देर) चलकर चित्रकूट पर्वत पर मन्दाकिनी नदी के तट पर पहुँचे और अपने उन जनों से यह वचन बोले।
English Commentary
This narrative verse bridges Bharata's approach to his actual arrival. The epithet sa Rāghavaḥ here refers to Bharata (descendant of Raghu). After walking for a short while (muhūrtaṃ), he arrives at the specific location on Chitrakuta hill near the Mandakini river. The verse sets the stage for Bharata’s reaction. He has moved from seeing signs (smoke, footprints) to being in the actual presence of the hermitage. He turns to address his entourage (taṃ janaṃ), preparing to voice the heavy emotions that the sight of the hermitage evokes in him, which follow in the next verses.

यह एक संयोजक (connecting) श्लोक है जो कथा को आगे बढ़ाता है। यहाँ 'राघव:' शब्द भरत के लिए प्रयुक्त हुआ है (रघुकुल में उत्पन्न होने के कारण)। 'मुहूर्तं' का अर्थ यहाँ अल्प समय से है। भरत ने वह दूरी शीघ्रता से तय की। वे मन्दाकिनी के तट पर, जहाँ चित्रकूट पर्वत है, पहुँच गए। वहाँ पहुँचकर उन्होंने जो दृश्य देखा, उसने उन्हें कुछ कहने पर विवश कर दिया। यह श्लोक भरत की यात्रा के समापन और श्रीराम के प्रत्यक्ष दर्शन से पूर्व की स्थिति का वर्णन करता है। अब वे उस पवित्र भूमि पर खड़े हैं जहाँ उनके आराध्य निवास करते हैं।
