Translation
With his throat choked by tears, looking at the illustrious Rama, he cried out just "Arya" and was unable to speak further.

आंसुओं से गला रुंध जाने के कारण, यशस्वी राम को देखकर वे केवल "आर्य!" कहकर चिल्लाए और फिर कुछ बोलने में समर्थ न हो सके।
English Commentary
Valmiki lingers on Bharata's inability to speak to underscore the intensity of the scene. Bharata looks at Rama, who is 'Yashasvinam' (full of glory/fame), contrasting with his own feeling of shame. The word 'samkrushya' implies a loud cry or a scream of anguish, not just a spoken word. He tries to articulate his feelings but fails ('vyahartum nashakat'). This repetition of his muteness serves to freeze the frame on Bharata's agony, making the reader feel the suffocation of his grief.

यह पिछले श्लोक की ही निरंतरता है, जो स्थिति की गंभीरता को बढ़ाता है। 'बाष्पापिहितकण्ठ:' (आंसुओं से ढका/रुंधा गला) - यह शारीरिक असमर्थता का कारण है। वे राम को 'यशस्विनम्' (यशस्वी) रूप में देखते हैं, जो उनकी श्रद्धा को दर्शाता है। 'संक्रुश्य' का अर्थ है जोर से पुकारना या चीख पड़ना। यह भरत के संयम का अंतिम विस्फ़ोट था। वे बहुत कुछ कहना चाहते थे, पर "आर्य" के अलावा कुछ निकल न सका। यह अधूरा संवाद राम और भरत के मिलन की तीव्रता को किसी भी लम्बे भाषण से बेहतर व्यक्त करता है।
