Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
निवर्तयामास ततो भरतम् भरत अग्रजः ।
स कामम् अनवाप्य एव राम पादा उपस्पृशन् ॥१-१-३८॥
Nivartayāmāsa tataḥ Bharatam Bharat agrajah। Sa kāmam anavāpya eva Rāma pāda-upaspṛśan ॥1-1-38॥
Translation
Then, the elder brother of Bharata (Rama) sent Bharata back. He (Bharata), indeed without obtaining his desire (to bring Rama back), returned, reverently touching Rama's feet.

तत्(भाई) भरत ने राम के चरणों को छूते हुए बिना अपनी इच्छा को प्राप्त किए लौट गए।
English Commentary
This verse concludes the moving episode of Bharata's journey to the forest, confirming his return to Ayodhya and emphasizing his profound reverence for Rama.
