तम् निहत्य महाबाहुः ददाह स्वर्गतः च सः ।
स च अस्य कथयामास शबरीम् धर्म चारिणीम् ॥१-१-५६॥
tam nihaty mahābāhuḥ dadāha svargataḥ ca saḥ |
sa ca asya kathayāmāsa śabarīm dharma cāriṇīm ॥1-1-56॥
Translation
Having defeated him, the mighty-armed one sent him to heaven. He then began to narrate the story of Shabari, the adherent of righteousness.

तम्हें नष्ट करके महाबाहु ने उसे स्वर्ग में भेज दिया। वह धर्मचारिणी शबरी की कथा कहने लगा।
English Commentary
In this shloka, the mighty-armed Rama is mentioned, who, after defeating the enemy, sent him to heaven. Following this, he began narrating the story of the devoted Shabari, who upheld righteousness. The mention of Shabari highlights the devotion and purity of Rama. Her character illustrates that true devotion and dedication are priceless. Despite her hardships, she served Lord Rama, and because of her steadfastness, she was the first to receive his grace. This shloka also conveys that Rama pays attention to his devotees and their endeavors, irrespective of their societal standing.
