Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
नंदिग्रामे जटाम् हित्वा भ्रातृभिः सहितो अनघः ।
रामः सीताम् अनुप्राप्य राज्यम् पुनः अवाप्तवान् ॥१-१-८९॥
Nandigrāme jaṭām hitvā bhrātṛbhiḥ sahito anaghaḥ. Rāmaḥ Sītām anuprāpya rājyaṃ punaḥ avāptavān. ॥1-1-89॥
Translation
In Nandigrama, the sinless Rama, having shorn His matted hair, and accompanied by His brothers, regained the kingdom, having obtained Sita (back).

नंदिग्राम में, पवित्र राम ने जटाएँ काटकर और अपने भाइयों के साथ, सीता को प्राप्त करके पुनः राज्य को प्राप्त किया।
English Commentary
This verse is the 89th from the first Sarga of the Bala Kanda and succinctly concludes the narrative of Rama's return. In Nandigrama, Rama cuts off the matted hair he wore during his fourteen years in exile, symbolizing the end of his ascetic phase. The term 'anagha' emphasizes Rama's moral purity and integrity in accordance with Dharma. This verse highlights the joyous reunion with his brothers and the restoration of his kingdom after reclaiming Sita. Though she was always present, her acceptance after the Agni Pariksha is a critical aspect, reaffirming her status as Queen. This moment signifies the transition from struggle to peace, representing the rightful ascension of Rama as the King of Ayodhya.
