Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
ननंदी तु दशरथो रोमपादः च वीर्यवान्।
ततः सुहृदम् आपृच्छ्य प्रस्थितो रघुनन्दनः ॥१-११-२३॥
nānandatuḥ daśaratho romapādaḥ ca vīryavān |
tataḥ suhṛdam āpṛcchya prasthito raghunandanaḥ ॥1-11-23॥
Translation
Dasharatha and the valiant Romapada both rejoiced (over the successful agreement/exchange). Then, the delight of the Raghus (King Dasharatha), having taken leave of his friend (Romapada), set forth (on his journey back).

दशरथ और वीर्यवान रोमपाद दोनों ने (सफल समझौते/लेन-देन) पर प्रसन्नता व्यक्त की। तब, रघुनन्दन (राजा दशरथ) अपने दोस्त (रोमपाद) से विदा लेकर यात्रा पर निकल पड़े।
English Commentary
This verse illustrates the friendship between King Dasharatha and Romapada. When King Dasharatha successfully concluded an alliance with his friend Romapada, both expressed joy over it. King Dasharatha was a great and mighty emperor, and he had a deep bond with Romapada. This verse also underscores the significance of goodwill and friendship, especially when a major plan is being enacted. As the king takes leave of his friend, he sets forth on a journey that holds substantial significance, as this journey was related both to his responsibilities and the religious sacrifices that were to follow.
