सरयव्याः च उत्तरे तीरे यज्ञ भूमिः विधीयताम् ।
शांतयः च अभिवर्थन्ताम् यथा कल्पम् यथा विधि ॥१-१२-१६॥
sarayavyāḥ ca uttare tīre yajña bhūmiḥ vidhīyatām |
śāṁtayaḥ ca abhivarthantām yathā kalpam yathā vidhi ॥1-12-16॥
Translation
Let the sacrificial ground be prepared on the northern bank of the Sarayu river. And let the rites of propitiation (peace-invoking rituals) be executed, proceeding according to the prescribed rules (Kalpa) and proper ritualistic method (Vidhi).

सरयू नदी के उत्तरी तट पर यज्ञ की भूमि तैयार की जाए। और शांति कर्मों को (यज्ञ के) कल्प (निश्चित विधि) और विधि (नियम) के अनुसार बढ़ाया जाए।
English Commentary
Continuing his directives to the ministers, King Dasharatha reiterates the specific instructions received from the sages. The first command, sarayavyāḥ ca uttare tīre yajña bhūmiḥ vidhīyatām, repeats the crucial requirement for the location of the sacrificial ground to be on the northern bank of the Sarayu river. This ensures the spiritual sanctity of the site for the massive undertaking. The second, and equally vital, command focuses on meticulous ritual purity: śāṁtayaḥ ca abhivarthantām yathā kalpam yathā vidhi. The King orders the execution of śāṁtayaḥ (propitiatory or peace-invoking rites) to ward off any potential obstacles or inauspicious influences that might hinder the Yajna. The phrase yathā kalpam yathā vidhi emphasizes that these rituals must be performed with utmost precision, strictly according to the Kalpa (the established manual of procedure) and Vidhi (the general ritualistic rules).
