Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
यथोक्तम् तत् करिष्यामो न किंचित् परिहीयते ।
ततः सुमंत्रम् आहूय वसिष्ठो वाक्यम् अब्रवीत् ॥१-१३-१९॥
yathoktam tat kariṣyāmo na kiṃcit parihīyate |
tataḥ sumantram āhūya vasiṣṭho vākyam abravīt ॥1-13-19॥
Translation
"We shall do exactly as instructed; nothing shall be neglected." Then, having summoned Sumantra, Vasishtha spoke these words.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(उन्होंने पुनः कहा) "जैसा कहा गया है, हम वैसा ही करेंगे और कोई कमी नहीं रहने देंगे।" इसके बाद वसिष्ठ जी ने सुमंत्र को बुलाकर यह वचन कहा।
English Commentary
After the officials reiterate their commitment to perfection, the narrative focus shifts. With the physical infrastructure and logistics secured, Sage Vasishtha proceeds to the next critical phase. He summons Sumantra. Sumantra holds a unique position as the King's charioteer, chief minister, and confidant. Calling him signifies the beginning of the diplomatic phase—sending out formal invitations to kings and sages, a task requiring the rank and wisdom of a statesman like Sumantra.

अधिकारियों द्वारा पूर्ण प्रतिबद्धता दोहराने के बाद, दृश्य बदलता है। अब भौतिक तैयारियां पूरी हो चुकी हैं, इसलिए वसिष्ठ जी अगले चरण की ओर बढ़ते हैं। वे 'सुमंत्र' को बुलाते हैं। सुमंत्र केवल सारथी नहीं, बल्कि राजा दशरथ के प्रधानमंत्री और अंतरंग सखा भी हैं। सुमंत्र को बुलाना यह संकेत है कि अब यज्ञ के लिए राजाओं और ऋषियों को आमंत्रित करने का राजनयिक (Diplomatic) कार्य आरम्भ होने वाला है।
