वसिष्ठ वाक्यम् तत् श्रुत्वा सुमंत्रः त्वरितः तदा ।
व्यादिशत् पुरुषान् तत्र राज्ञाम् आनयने शुभान् ॥ ॥१-१३-३०॥
Vasiṣṭha vākyam tat śrutvā Sumantraḥ tvaritaḥ tadā । Vyādiśat puruṣān tatra rājñām ānayane śubhān ॥ ॥1-13-30॥
Translation
Upon hearing the words of Vasistha, Sumantra immediately acted with haste, instructing capable and auspicious men to escort the invited kings to their respective accommodations.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वसिष्ठ जी के उन वचनों को सुनकर, सुमंत्र ने तत्काल और शीघ्रता से वहां उपस्थित शुभ (योग्य) पुरुषों को राजाओं को आदरपूर्वक लिवा लाने का आदेश दिया।
English Commentary
This verse highlights the efficiency of the administrative chain of command in Ayodhya. As soon as the Royal Priest Vasistha gave the directive, Chief Minister Sumantra acted immediately. The phrase shubhan purushan (auspicious/capable men) is significant; it implies that for the task of escorting high-profile royal guests, only those staff members who were well-versed in etiquette, diplomacy, and protocol were selected, ensuring the dignity of the visiting monarchs was maintained.

इस श्लोक में आज्ञा पालन की तत्परता और प्रशासनिक व्यवस्था का वर्णन है। जैसे ही कुलगुरु वसिष्ठ ने निर्देश दिया, महामंत्री सुमंत्र ने बिना एक क्षण व्यर्थ किये अपने अधीनस्थों को काम पर लगा दिया। यहाँ 'शुभान् पुरुषान्' का प्रयोग महत्वपूर्ण है, जिसका अर्थ है कि राजाओं के सत्कार और उन्हें लाने के लिए साधारण सेवकों को नहीं, बल्कि शिष्टाचार में निपुण और कुलीन अधिकारियों को नियुक्त किया गया था, ताकि अतिथियों के सम्मान में कोई कमी न रहे।
