Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
दीयताम् दीयताम् अन्नम् वासांसि विविधानि च ।
इति संचोदिताः तत्र तथा चक्रुः अनेकशः ॥ ॥१-१४-१४॥
Dīyatām dīyatām annam vāsāṃsi vividhāni ca । Iti saṃcoditāḥ tatra tathā cakruḥ anekaśaḥ ॥ ॥1-14-14॥
Translation
"Give! Give food and various kinds of clothes!" Thus repeatedly urged by the supervisors, the workers distributed these items again and again.

"दीजिए! (और) दीजिए! अन्न और विभिन्न प्रकार के वस्त्र दीजिए!"—इस प्रकार (अधिकारियों द्वारा) बार-बार प्रेरित किए जाने पर, वे (सेवक) अनेक बार वैसा ही करते थे।
English Commentary
The repetition of Diyatam Diyatam (Let it be given! Let it be given!) captures the frenetic energy of generosity. It wasn't passive charity; it was proactive and urged by supervisors (sanchoditah). The distribution extended beyond food to vasansi (clothes/textiles). This implies a massive economic redistribution where the King's wealth was systematically poured back into society, ensuring that every guest received material wealth along with spiritual blessings.
हिंदी टीका
यह श्लोक दान की आक्रामक गति (Aggressive Charity) को दर्शाता है। यज्ञ में कंजूसी का लेशमात्र भी नहीं था। 'दीयताम् दीयताम्' (दो, दो!) की आवृत्ति (repetition) उस हड़बड़ी और उत्साह को दिखाती है जो दान देने में थी। केवल भोजन ही नहीं, 'वासांसि' (वस्त्र) भी बांटे जा रहे थे। दशरथ का निर्देश स्पष्ट था: कोई भी खाली हाथ या पुराना कपड़ा पहने वापस न जाए। यह वैदिक राजा का 'प्रजा-रंजन' धर्म है।
