Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
कर्म कुर्वंति विधिवत् याजका वेदपारगाः ।
यथा विधि यथा न्यायं परिक्रामन्ति शास्त्रतः ॥ ॥१-१४-३॥
Karma kurvanti vidhivat yājakā vedapāragāḥ । Yathā vidhi yathā nyāyam parikrāmanti śāstrataḥ ॥ ॥1-14-3॥
Translation
The priests, masters of the Vedas, performed the duties strictly according to the rules. They moved about and conducted the rituals in accordance with the scriptures and established logic.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वेदों में पारंगत ऋत्विज (याजक) विधिपूर्वक कर्म कर रहे थे। वे शास्त्रानुसार, नियम और न्याय के अनुसार ही (अग्नि आदि की) परिक्रमा और अन्य कार्य कर रहे थे।
English Commentary
This verse emphasizes the technical precision of the ritual. The priests are Vedaparagah—experts who have reached the other shore of Vedic knowledge. Their actions are not random but governed by Vidhi (injunctions) and Nyaya (propriety/logic), highlighting that the Yajna was a disciplined execution of complex scriptural laws.

'वेदपारगाः' (वेदों के पारगामी विद्वान) शब्द बताता है कि पुरोहित अत्यंत ज्ञानी थे। यहाँ 'यथा विधि' (प्रक्रिया के अनुसार) और 'यथा न्यायं' (तर्क/औचित्य के अनुसार) का प्रयोग बताता है कि यह अंधविश्वास नहीं, बल्कि एक सुव्यवस्थित विज्ञान था। हर परिक्रमा और आहुति का एक निर्धारित स्थान और समय था, जिसका सख्ती से पालन हो रहा था।
